Twelve Davidson athletes earn academic honors
A dozen Davidson College athletes were named to the Southern Conference Academic All-Conference teams for the 2011-12 winter season.
A total of 158 athletes from 12 conference schools were named to the team, which included men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, and wrestling.
To be eligible, athletes had to have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average entering the winter season, and compete in at least one-half of their team’s games. Also, they had to have completed at least 24 credit hours the previous two semesters.
Davidson’s honorees were J.P. Kuhlman (men’s basketball), Demetrios Pagonis, Vincent Weir, Stewart Dalton, Wes Reynolds, Ryan Hopkins and Michael Lorentsen (men’s indoor track and field), Jane Gay, Margaret Mavity, Alexandra Horst and Kathryn Hicks (women’s indoor track and field) and Tyler Mullen (wrestling).
